Silver on Chalk  ·  Renaissance Technique  ·  Original Works

Drawn in
Silver

A metalpoint stylus on a chalk-prepared ground — a technique unchanged since the Renaissance. Each line is permanent. Each mark is a commitment.

Ag

Silverpoint uses a pure silver stylus drawn across a ground prepared with chalk and gum arabic — the same method used by Leonardo, Dürer and Van Eyck. The silver deposits microscopic traces of metal with each stroke. Over time, the lines oxidise to a warm, glowing patina. The line cannot be erased. Only refined.

The Silverpoint Collection

All silverpoint drawings are unique originals. No editions, no reproductions. Commissions welcome — portraits, landscapes and custom subjects.

03 Study of Hands Silverpoint  ·  Figure Study  ·  Original

A Renaissance-tradition study of folded hands — the kind of preparatory drawing the Old Masters made before committing to paint.
